Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland -- Isn't that one of the first things you think of when you see this card? I love this colour combo and the MojoMonday sketch.

Stamping with Rach Tips & Tricks
  • Use the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder on the cherry cobbler strip and the white card base to give the card dimension.
  • Add dimensionals behind the scallop snowflake image and the bird.
  • I don't necessarily always like to have everything perfectly lined up. In this case, the black circle/grey circle/red button are top aligned instead of centered. Cute!

Butterfly Wishes

I was looking forward to using the Papillon Potpourri stamp set because I absolutely adore butterflies! Did you know that the Elegant Butterfly punch coordinates with this set? I am a sucker for stamp sets and punches that coordinate with one another... ;)

Stamping with Rach Tips & Tricks
  • On the smaller piece of white card stock, sponge the edges (a little thicker than usual). This gives it the illusion of a layer of Island Indigo beneath it.
  • I used the Rock and Roll technique on the middle butterfly so there was some variation between the butterflies.
  • Place 1" and 1 1/4" punched out circles underneath the butterflies to draw attention to them.
  • Pierce around the edge of the smaller whisper white cardstock.

Must-have's to create this card:
Stamp Set: Papillon Potpouri (Clear: 123759, Wood: 123757), Bring on the Cake (Clear: 121958), Wood: 121899)
Paper:  Whisper White (100730), Island Indigo (122923), Daffodil Delight (119683), Summer Smooches 125409)
Ink:  Island Indigo (126986), Daffodil Delight (126944)

Welcome Baby!

Many of you have asked for sample cards that have a baby theme. Here you have it! This is based off this week's MojoMonday sketch.

Happy I Do Day!

I loooove black and white cards! I added a splash of Cherry Cobbler to this since it is a "lovey dovey" card :) This card is based off this week's MojoMonday sketch.

I HIGHLY recommend MojoMonday if you have a hard time creating a card from scratch...like me. MojoMonday give you a template as a starting point which is great to get your creative juices flowing.

So -- how did I make this card, you ask? Read on...

Stamping with Rach Tips & Tricks
  • The finished size of this card is 5.5"L x 4.25"W -- a nice elegant size for an elegant card ;)
  • Since it's a wedding card, I added Vanilla Shimmer Smooch to the Whisper White layer which gives it a nice subtle shimmer (it's hard to see in the pic)
  • To give the card some depth, I ran the large heart and the black strip through the Big Shot using the Elegant Lines texured impressions embossing folder
  • to add more bling, put a rhinestone above the "o" in "do"

Must-have's to create this card:
Stamp Set: Word Play (Clear: 120651, Wood: 120308)
Paper:  Whisper White(100730), Basic Black (121045), Cherry Cobbler (119685), Silver Glimmer (124005)

Birthday Flowers

CASE'd from Jen Sannes at www.simpleandsincere.com

I wish I could take credit for this card .... but I can't. I was searching for ideas how to incorporate the Fun Flowers die and I came across this beautiful card. And what blew my socks off was that the flower was made out COFFEE FILTERS! I know it doesn't take much to blow me away but I thought the coffee filter idea was ingenious! I used 3 layers of coffee filters and I was able to put them through the Big Shot at one time.

Want to know how you can easily make this card? Read on....

Stamping with Rach Tips & Tricks
  • The finished size of this card is 5.5"L x 4.25"W -- a nice size to showcase the flower
  • Put all 3 coffee filter layers through the Big Shot together --- it will save you lots of time!
  • Put adhesive in the middle of the back of each flower. This will allow you to turn the petals up a bit for a 3D look
  • to add a bit of bling, use a rhinestone on the dot of the "i" in "Birthday"
